| Sealer primer containing different kinds of natural shellac in alcohol solution.
Because of its special amber colour and surface-resistance characteristics, Laccantica is an excellent base primer for the shellac or wax treatment of antique and/or period furniture.
Laccantica is easy to apply (French polishing or brush) and adheres perfectly to any surface.
It fills pores and eliminates imperfections with just a few coats and dries quickly.
It is easy to sandpaper.
Laccantica enhances the natural colours and grains of the wood and leaves a brown-amber colour film (typical shellac colour).
After application of Laccantica, the surface is full and soft to the touch.
Instrction for use:
Furniture to be renovated.
- Eliminate any wax, oil or dirt using a dewaxer and a small piece of fine steel wool.
- Allow to dry and clean with a cloth soaked in alcohol.
New Furniture:
- On natural wood, apply the product directly.
- On stained wood, make sure the stain is perfectly dry.
- Laccantica is ready to use (if necessary, the product can be diluted with 94 ethyl alcohol, at whatever percentage).
- French polishing or brush application.
- Apply 2/3 coats of Laccantica or until the wood pores are saturated.
- To obtain a harder and more resistant base, we suggest extending the interval between one application and another as much as possible (minimum 2 and maximum 12 hours).
- 24 hours after applying the last coat, sandpaper with fine sandpaper or steel wool and finish off the treatment with shellac finish (our Bionda), or with beeswax (our Ceralegno), or with a polisher (our Old Style).
